BUDAPEST NATIONS CUP RULES
1. § GENERAL RULES

The event will take place at the Panoráma Sports Center, located in a beautiful hillside area in the heart of Buda.The sports complex has artificial grass football pitches.

3. § GAME RULES
Game Duration: 2x10 minutes (depends on the number of teams registered)
Number of Players: 5+1 (max 12 persons)
Ball Size: size 5 FIFA-approved balls
Field Dimensions: 40m x 20m
Goal Size: 3x2 meters
Penalty Area: 6 meters (measured from the goalpost towards the sideline and from the goal line)
Distance from Penalty Spot: 7 meters
Distance of the defensive wall in case of a free kick: 5 meters
Other important rules:No offside rules:
• The goalkeeper cannot handle back-passes with their hands
• During goal kicks, the ball must be played from the ground only
• The ball can be put into play along the sideline with an overhead two-handed throw or a pass, neither of which can directly result in a goal.4. § PLAYERS & SUBTITUTIONS
A team can register up to 12 players for the Budapest Nations Cup. All players must be over 18 years of age!
Each team can have a maximum of two players who are not from the given country.
Players from one team cannot switch to the other team throughout the tournament.
6 players (5 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper) can be on the field at a time.
The number of substitutions is unlimited. A substituted player can be re-entered at any time. The game does not need to be stopped for substitutions. Each substitution must take place legally at the sideline in front of your own bench.
Each team leader is responsible for registering all players on the team’s participation list. The following information must be provided for each player:
- Full name (First and last name)
- Full date of birth (eight digits)
A written list of teams must be submitted to the organizers before the first match.
5. § DISCIPLINARY & SANCTIONING
In the event of a cautionable offence, the offending player shall be cautioned with a yellow card. A second yellow card in the same match shall result in an automatic sending-off (2 minutes red card) and the player shall not be allowed to return to the field for the remainder of the match for two minutes. The sent-off player may take part in the next match.
Serious or violent offences and misconduct towards opponents – in particular the use of offensive or racist language – shall result in an immediate, permanent sending-off (5 minutes red card). Intentional hitting or kicking, as well as any attempt to do so, shall also result in a permanent sending-off (5 minutes red card). A player who has been sent off may be replaced by another player after five minutes.
Expulsion from a match shall not result in a suspension from the next match and yellow cards shall not be accumulated. In the event of serious offences, the Budapest Nations Cup Organizing Committee shall decide on the player’s continued eligibility for the tournament.
6. § RULES OF MATCHES
Teams are drawn into groups, where they play round-robin matches. This is followed by a knockout stage.
Three points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss.
The team with the highest number of points will be ranked first, the second-highest will be ranked second, and so on. If two or more teams have the same number of points, their ranking will be determined by the following criteria in succession:
1. Head-to-head results2. Goal difference
3. More goals scored
In the knockout stage, if a match ends in a draw, the winner is decided by penalty kicks.
All teams should be ready at the pitch no later than 5 minutes before kick-off.
Any team not appearing at the appointed time and place for a match can be declared loser by 0-5.
Teams must wear uniform colored shirt. Numbering of shirts is not mandatory.
7. § REFEREES
The referees of the Budapest Nations Cup are accredited referees. Each match is officiated by one referee.
8. § PROTESTS
The appeal must be submitted in writing (e-mail), in Hungarian or English, by midnight on the day of the match. The appeal must be signed by the team manager.
9. § OTHER REGULATIONS
The team manager, as indicated on the participant list, is responsible for any damage caused by his or her players and for the players behavior.
The organizer has not collective insurance to cover injuries, illness, theft or damages.
The organizer is not responsible for compensation and they are also not responsible for financial losses.
10. § AWARDS AND PRIZES
At the conclusion of the cup the top-performing teams will receive the following awards:
1st place team: each player will receive a gold medal, and the team will be awarded the winner’s trophy.2nd place team: each player will receive a silver medal, and the team will be awarded the runner-up trophy.
3rd place team: each player will receive a bronze medal, and the team will be awarded the third-place trophy.
All participants, regardless of their final ranking, will receive a gift as a token of appreciation for their participation.
Organizing Committee
